Flaming Butterfly (DVD) (End) (Multi-audio) (ATV Drama) (US Version) Singer-actress Rain Li and television star Michael Tong lead the cast in ATV's 2008 grand drama Flaming Butterfly. Both starring in their first ATV series, Michael Tong and Rain Li play husband and wife in this turbulent drama about one woman's pursuit of love and wealth amidst power struggles and family feuds. Flaming Butterfly's impressive ensemble cast includes silver-screen upstarts Monie Tung (Whispers and Moans) and Anson Leung (One Nite in Mongkok); ATV stalwarts Lam Wai and Kong Mei Yee; former TVB starlets Cherie Chan Siu Ha, Joyce Chan, and Priscilla Chi; and veterans Kenneth Tsang, Lo Hoi Pang, and Lee Lung Kei. After her father commits suicide over bankruptcy, Fok Sum Yee (Rain Li) is left on her own to support her brother. With nothing to her name, Sum Yee boldly ventures into the entertainment industry and endures the bumps and bruises of the business. She meets friendly assistant director Hok Lai (Anson Leung), who turns out to be the second son of business tycoon Cheung (Kenneth Tsang). Sum Yee's father and Cheung were once close acquaintances, but Cheung not only refused to help when the Fok business failed, he even especially sent his older son Hok Yu (Michael Tong) abroad to separate him from Sum Yee. Crossing paths with Hok Yu again years later, Sum Yee is determined to recover what was once hers, be it love or money.
